The RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network recently presented its Administrative Professional of the Year award for 2016 to Barb Kurz, who manages the RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals offices in Plainfield and Shorewood.
The award recognizes the efforts of administrative staff who make major contributions not only by facilitating day-to-day operations but also by creating an office environment that supports the productivity and spirit of the entire brokerage team.
Kurz was recognized for her multifaceted efforts that keep both offices ofRE/MAX Ultimate Professionals running smoothly and for her involvement in the office’s charitable activities. She and her husband live in Joliet where they have raised four children. Kurz has been involved in the administrative side of the real estate brokerage business since 2009 when she joined the staff of another RE/MAX franchise. In 2012, Kurz moved to her current position.
Mahoney inducted into Academy of Illinois Lawyers
George F. Mahoney III, a founding member of the Will County firm Mahoney, Silverman & Cross, LLC, was recently inducted into the Academy of Illinois Lawyers Class of Laureates.
Mahoney focuses on zoning and land development, government and municipal law, litigation, and appellate practice.
A graduate of the DePaul University College of Law, he has served at the highest levels in numerous bar associations and professional societies. Among other leadership positions, he has been chair of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education board, president of the Will County Bar Association, and chair of the Illinois State Bar Association Standing Committee on Judicial Evaluations. He was also president of the Illinois Bar Foundation from 2010 through 2012.
From 1995 through 2002, Mahoney served on the Illinois Supreme Court Rules Committee. He is also a member of the Illinois Supreme Court Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee.
Zableckis promoted at The Timbers
Jodi Zableckis, 34, of Shorewood has been promoted to business manager at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 North River Rd. She has been a Timbers employee since 2003.
In her new position, Zableckis is responsible for human resources, payroll and management of the front desk staff. She also coordinates the processing of all financial information.
Fourteen years ago, she joined The Timbers as a receptionist, and later, she was promoted to administrative assistant.
Parker appointed to Cornerstone board
Will County Board member Annette Parker (R-Crest Hill) was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Cornerstone Services, an agency that provides services and support for individuals with disabilities in Joliet, Will County, and Kankakee County.
"I am honored to be a member of Cornerstone's Board of Directors," Parker said in a press release. "Cornerstone provides essential services to those with disabilities so they can lead more independent lives. I look forward to working with the other board members and the Cornerstone staff to advocate for those in Will County who need a little bit more help getting their voices heard."
Parker will sit on a board comprised of community leaders, people who receive services from the agency, and family members. Parker also sits on a number of committees for the Will County Board, including the executive, capital improvements, legislative and policy, and public works and transportation committees.
