Why Knowlton was selected:
He won his initial varsity invitational in last Saturday's Joliet Central Invite at Channahon Community Park. Knowlton finished just ahead of last year's 10th-place finisher in Class 3A, York's Sean MacGregor, and that helped the Cougars to a 40-42 victory over the perennially-strong Dukes for the title of the 13-team event.
