CHANNAHON – A 38-year-old snowmobile driver was killed in a crash involving a pick-up truck Friday afternoon, the Channahon Police Department said in a news release.
Channahon police officers responded to the crash at close to 1 p.m. Friday in the 24000 block of Tryon Street in Channahon.
When the officers arrived, they found a Justin F. Craig, of Channahon, who had been reportedly ejected from his snowmobile and who had suffered significant injuries in a crash with a pickup truck.
The man was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, where he was pronounced dead at 1:43 p.m., Channahon police said. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
No charges were pending against the
driver as of late Friday afternoon, police said.
Tryon Street was closed between St. Elizabeth Street and Liberty Street while the police investigation into the crash was conducted. The road was reopened at 4 p.m.
An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday. The final cause and manner of death will be determined after final police, autopsy and toxicological reports.
