JOLIET – A Joliet man went to buy diapers for his baby at a Shorewood gas station and ended up winning $4 million.

Charles Dickhaut won $4 million when he scratched a 100X The Money ticket, according to the Illinois Lottery.

Dickhaut bought a few 100X The Money tickets while buying diapers for his newborn at the 900 Brookforest Ave. Speedway, Illinois Lottery officials said in a news release. 100X The Money is a $20 instant ticket that featured eight top prizes of $4 million.

Dickhaut bought two tickets and lost before buying the winning ticket. Speedway received a bonus of $40,000, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

“I still can’t believe it,” Dickhaut said in a news release.

Dickhaut plans to keep working his full-time job while paying off his home and investing his winnings, according to the Illinois Lottery.
