Troy Middle School S.L.A.M. Club members Kaya Killingsworth, Kailey Seroka and Caitlyn Murdock-Schey get some appreciation from one of the Will County Humane Society’s dogs up for adoption when the club recently brought donations to the facility.

Students in Troy Middle School’s S.L.A.M. (Student Leadership and Mentoring) Club got to rub noses with the adoptable dogs and cats at the Will County Shorewood Humane Society recently when they visited the facility with donations they contributed.

The students organized the donation campaign at the school, asking other students and staff to bring in such items as dog and cat food, treats, toys and towels. The S.L.A.M. Club students then visited the Humane Society to give the donations. While they were there, they were given a tour of the facility and allowed to play with some of the animals. Co-sponsors of the club are Sandy Smith, Staci Dahlberg and Carley Burke.
