JOLIET – The Four Seasons Heating, Air Conditioning and Plumbing Burndown at Sundown will return for the most explosive night of drag racing at Route 66 Raceway on Saturday.
As the sun goes down, the track heats up as at the World’s Premier Drag Racing Facility. A fire-breathing show consisting of jet-propelled cars rocketing to speeds nearing 300 mph. Burndown at Sundown coincides with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series exhibition, where more than 500 cars will spring into action during three full days of racing.
The Burndown at Sundown is turning up the heat in 2018 with some fiery additions. A new and exciting component will be the United States Freestyle Motocross Team (USFMX). High above the race rack will be the high-energy aerial antics of Team USFMX as they perform heart-pounding, death-defying tricks, such as the “Kiss of Death.”
And young race fans can enjoy the fun with carnival games, face painting, and bounce house and more. Fans can also walk down ‘Jet Alley,” where all Jet Cars and Wheelstanders will be parking for the day. A great chance to see a Jet Car up close.
The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series (LODRS) is the premier Sportsman racing program in motorsports. It is where the future stars of NHRA Drag Racing develop their skills. The event at Route 66 Raceway runs Friday through Sunday and is expected to showcase upward of 500 vehicles from 10 classes, including Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Comp, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Dragster and Top Sportsman.
With hundreds of cars in 10 classes, LODRS has something for everyone. As a part of the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Top Alcohol Dragsters and Top Alcohol Funny Cars will be on display. Fans will also witness 200-mph door slammers in Top Sportsman class, as well as many wheel standing action and stock and super stockers as part the of NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competition.
The spectacle of fire and explosion will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, although racing takes place all day. Tickets for the Four Seasons Heating, Air Conditioning and Plumbing Burndown at Sundown are only $20, while kids 12 and younger are admitted for $5.
