VVSD hires executive director for grades 6 to 12

The Valley View School District 365U Board of Education approved Adam Hurder’s hire as the executive director for education services for grades 6 to 12.

Hurder previously was the district’s executive director for educational services for pre-K through fifth grade. He started as a fifth-grade teacher at Irene King Elementary School in 2007 and joined the district administration staff in 2012 as math and science curriculum coordinator.

Hurder earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Southern California in 2000, a Master of Arts degree in teaching from National Louis University in 2006 and a Master of Arts degree in leadership from Concordia University in 2013.

He began his work in education as supplemental education services coordinator for Chicago Public Schools in 2005.

Valley View School District 365U serves 18,000 students in 22 educational facilities in Bolingbrook, Romeoville and more.
