On June 23, almost all 300 students part of the Lincoln-Way Marching Band performed the national anthem on the field before the start of the White Sox game against the Oakland A’s.

The White Sox provided tickets to the band as it looks to raise funds for its New Year’s Day trip to the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.

Tickets were provided at a $10 discount, which band members then sold at face value. Students sold more than 1,200 tickets, raising more than $12,000 for their trip in the process.
