Will County Sheriff’s investigators are seeking help from the public to identify two suspects who were involved in an armed robbery that occurred at the Shell gas station in Homer Glen, according to a news release.
The robbery took place July 19 at the gas station at 15861 S. Bell Road, which is the corner of 159th Street and Bell Road. About 4:10 a.m., deputies were sent to the gas station regarding a report of an armed robbery, according to the release.
A female employee told deputies she had gone into the washroom because no one was inside the store. When she came out, she reportedly saw two men wearing masks. The suspects shown in the photos are wearing heavy clothing.
The temperature was 86 degrees during the day and 62 degrees at night, according to The Weather Channel’s website.
She said that one of them had a small black handgun and another grabbed her and took her behind the counter.
One of the robbers demanded her to “give me all the money,” deputies said.
The employee complied and gave them a small amount of cash. Both men then left the store. No car was observed in the immediate area on video surveillance footage, deputies said.
The first suspect is described as a young man wearing a black Chicago Bulls hoodie with white drawstring ties and a red Chicago Bulls logo on the upper sleeve, according to the release.
His face was covered with a black cloth, and he wore black shoes with white soles.
The second suspect is described as a young man wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, red bandana covering his face, dark pants and gloves. The man allegedly removed cash from the register drawer. The report described a significant height difference between the two suspects.
Anyone with information about the robbery or who can assist detectives in identifying the suspects is encouraged to call the sheriff’s office investigation division at 815-727-8574, ext. 4958.
