Linden Oaks Behavioral Health has opened a new outpatient center in Mokena at 9697 W. 191st St.  The center is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

Linden Oaks, which has a 108-bed behavioral health hospital on Edward Hospital’s Naperville campus, uses a combination of inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and traditional outpatient programs to treat adolescents, adults and older adults.

Linden Oaks has programs for anxiety disorders, chemical dependency, addiction, depression, eating disorders, geriatric conditions and self-injury.

“Our new facility in Mokena is staffed with a full-time psychiatrist, advanced practice nurse and physician assistant, along with a team of skilled, licensed counselors to assist in providing the holistic care – treatment of the mind, body and spirit – that we are committed to at Linden Oaks," Terry Ciszek, director of the Linden Oaks Mokena Outpatient Center, said in a news release. “Experienced assessment and referral professionals are available at the Center to determine the appropriate level of care a patient needs."

If a hospital-based outpatient program is appropriate, the patient is assigned to a licensed clinical therapist and receives a thorough psychosocial assessment to determine priorities of care and a physical assessment to rule out medical complications. The Mokena Center offers the following levels of treatment:

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). PHP offers the highest level of outpatient care with six hours of structured programming each day. Comprised of individual, group and family therapy, this programming also includes patient education and expressive therapy experiences in the form of art, music, dance, journaling or exercise.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Similar to PHP, IOP offers patients a three-hour daily outpatient treatment plan that focuses on individual, group and family therapy.

Based on patient needs, individualized care plans are developed to address general mental health issues, including depression and anxiety, panic disorders, phobias and post-traumatic stress disorder.

For adolescents, treatment is available for school refusal to ensure student plans involve an appropriate return to school environment. Onsite study assistance with licensed teachers is also available with our adolescent programming.

Substance and process addiction treatment are available as components of the individualized care plans at the Mokena Center, which offers a variety of services for each stage of recovery, including dual diagnosis, and alcohol and drug intervention for adolescents and adults.

The Mokena Center offerings programming for adults and adolescents, beginning at age 12. Adolescents between the ages of 12 and 18 receive specialized programming, separate from adult programming.

Linden Oaks has been recognized with Joint Commission Disease-Specific Certification for commitment to excellence in the treatment of anxiety, depression, bipolar, dementia, chemical dependency, eating disorders and self injury, and the American Nurses Association National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality.

Linden Oaks also has outpatient offices in Hinsdale, Plainfield and St. Charles, and manages behavioral health services for Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights.
