Illinois storm chasers Danny Nealand and Adam Lucio, talked about their passion for weather.
One got his driver's license and began following storms and the other learned all he could about the weather to get over his fear of storms.
The Village of Minooka EMA and Minooka Women's Club recently co-sponsored this free event where weather safety and preparedness, storm chasing and easy to understand language about the weather were explained.
Nealand and Lucio now supply what they referred to as "real" weather information to the National Weather Service. Their "eyes on the situation" is necessary because the NWS radar systems only supply information about cloud level and upward. Their input covers the action which is actually taking place ground to cloud level.
