The city of Joliet will launch a snow removal program this winter for seniors and people with disabilities.
Residents have until Oct. 31 to apply for the program available to those 65 or older and people with doctor-verified disabilities, according to a news release from the city.
Snow removal will be provided at times when there are 2 or more inches of snowfall.
“The contractor will remove snow from the the driveway and also the service walk from driveway to the front door,” the release said.
The City Council earlier this year allocated $30,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant funds for the program.
Applications can be found on the city’s website at jolietcity.info/seniorsnow.
