Two Troy Community School District 30-C alumni who were involved in track and cross-country sports while at Troy successfully ran this year’s Chicago Marathon.
Hollie Lewandowski was a track state qualifier in discus and shot put when she attended Troy Middle School, and Tyler Tschida ran track and cross country at Troy for two years when the team competed at state.
The Chicago Marathon is a USATF-certified course, home to four world records and several national records. Thousands of runners competed in the 29-neighborhood marathon this year, from more than 100 countries and all 50 states.
It was Lewandowski’s first marathon, and she finished it at 5:59:41. The route ran right by her apartment. Tschidaran the Chicago Marathon in 3:29:44.
