Forest Preserve District of Will County plans more events around exhibit

The Forest Preserve District of Will County will hold a number of additional events in conjunction with the upcoming "Frida Kahlo's Garden" exhibit.

Jan. 29 through March 16

• Frida Kahlo's Garden –10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays, and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays; Four Rivers Environmental Center, 25055 W. Walnut Lane in Channahon. The exhibition will explore iconic photographs of the artist and her home and garden, in addition to reproductions of several of her paintings. • "The Life and Times of Frida Kahlo" – 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Four Rivers Environmental Center, 25055 W. Walnut Lane in Channahon. PBS documentary. • Art Lecture – Frida 2020: Contemporary Connections – 11 a.m. to noon, Four Rivers Environmental Center, 25055 W. Walnut Lane in Channahon. Justin Witte, director and curator of Cleve Carney Art Gallery at the College of DuPage, will deliver a presentation about the continued relevance of Frida Kahlo in contemporary society. The lecture will serve as an overview of Kahlo’s life with a focus on why the main themes of her work continue to resonate with viewers over six decades after her death. Ages 14 and up. Free.
