A Frankfort man was arrested on charges of criminal sexual abuse, grooming and traveling to meet a minor after the parents of a teenage girl reported him to the authorities, police said.

About 3 p.m. Saturday, Derrick A. Marino, 20, of the 20400 block of South Cobblestone Court was booked into the Will County jail on felony charges of traveling to meet a minor and grooming, as well as a misdemeanor charge of criminal sexual abuse.

Marino was arrested by Tinley Park police.

Tinley Park police Cmdr. Anthony Campbell said the investigation of Marino was initiated after his department received a phone call from the parents of a 16-year-old girl who was the alleged victim in the case.

Campbell declined to detail the allegations against Marino because the matter is under investigation. He said investigators are still reviewing Marino’s electronic devices.

“We definitely had enough for charges,” he said.

On Sunday, a Will County judge set Marino’s bond at $30,000. He will need to post $3,000 in order to be released from jail.

As a condition of Marino’s bond, he will be prohibited from having contact with the victim, her family or their residence if he is released.

Marino’s case has been scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 7.

Traveling to meet a minor is punishable by two to five years in prison. Grooming is punishable by one to three years in prison.

Criminal sexual abuse is a misdemeanor punishable by one year in jail and a fine of $2,500.
