A Bolingbrook man previously convicted of slashing a man in the face with a knife was arrested by police for allegedly stabbing a man in the chest near a Dollar Tree store, according to court records.

About 4:30 p.m. Monday, Antonio O. Bavaro, 29, of the 200 block of Seneca Way was booked into the Will County jail on four counts of aggravated battery and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.

Bavaro was charged with stabbing a man in the chest near the Dollar Tree at 130 S. Bolingbrook Drive, according to the criminal complaint.

The store is located in the Market Square Shopping Center.

Bavaro used a knife in the incident, according to the complaint.

At a bond hearing Tuesday, a Will County judge set Bavaro’s bond at $75,000.

Bavaro needs to post $7,500 for his release.

As a condition of the bond, Bavaro would be forbidden to contact the victim or go to his victim’s residence in Bolingbrook, according to court records.

On Feb. 1, 2018, Bavaro pleaded guilty to aggravated battery.

On Aug. 24, 2017, Bavaro slashed a man in the face at Meyer Park at 279 W. Briarcliff Road in Bolingbrook, according to a bill of indictment.

Bavaro was given two years of conditional discharge and credited for 162 days served in jail.

Bavaro also was ordered to pay $745 in fees and fines.

He has only paid $195 of the amount, according to court records.
