Single-vehicle wreck in Homer Glen claims Lockport man's life

A Lockport man was killed Saturday afternoon after his vehicle went off the road and crashed into a tree and culvert, officials said.

Anthony Kladis, 53, died in the emergency room of Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.

Kladis was pronounced dead at 3:40 p.m., according to a statement released by the coroner’s office.

Kladis was the driver of a vehicle that left the road and then struck a tree and a culvert near the intersection of South Lemont Road and West 138th Street in Homer Glen, according to the statement.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal crash, according to the statement.

Kladis’ official cause of death remains pending.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, according to the coroner’s office, and a ruling on Kladis’ cause of death would not be released until its completion, as well as police and toxicology reports.
