With a desire of "wanting to do something for the soldier," he envisioned creating a pathway of bricks leading to the statue. And that gave him an idea.
So Jack, a life scout with Troop 256, Robert Thomas, president of the Shorewood Glen Veterans group and suggested a patio to honor the veterans who live in the Shorewood Glen by Del Webb community.
Thomas liked Jack's idea, both to support the Boy Scouts (Thomas and his own sons have all participated in scouts, he said) and to help Jack reach his goal, as only a small percentage of Boy Scouts world-wide attain the rank of Eagle, Thomas said.
“So I’ll do whatever I can to help kids,” Thomas said.
