America, the gullible

To the Editor:

Donald Lattin thinks I watch too much MSNBC and CNN to gain information and viewpoints. I have never watched either station, although I saw a shared feed from Baghdad during Desert Storm bombing from CNN. We all saw that since CNN had the only reporter sending out a live feed.

As I have said before, those people watching Fox, especially the president, are unable to separate the actual news from the Murdoch/Ailes scripted propaganda.

My friends who watch Fox really believe the script until they are given the truth. However, they still continue to watch because they have been repeatedly told the reporters only give fake news.

So by implication Fox’s real news is fake and the scripted talking heads are truthful? Too often they have been caught using Russian bot info on social media as their source. Those people watching Fox must believe wrestling also is real.

An even worse place to get “news” is the internet and social media which, too often, have Russian and Chinese bot farms as their source. All of our intelligence agencies have said this, but people continue to believe.

Perhaps one day, a song will be written named “American, the Gullible.”

I did what I wanted

To the Editor:

Just think how sad it is to have no one to answer to and how great one would have to be to think they are the only one. You could kill, rape, pillage and basically do whatever you wanted and simply justify it all by saying “Dude it’s OK. I did what I wanted”.

Down with daylight savings time

To the Editor:

I was delighted to read the Dec. 3 letter from Sandy Gregorash regarding year-round daylight savings time. The year was 1974. Daylight savings time has outlived its usefulness. I think even Ben Franklin would object to having it all year. Those who forget their history are doomed to repeat it.

The sham of quid pro quo

To the Editor:

I just heard both Democratic candidates for president, Sanders and Warren, state that “they would withhold aid to Israel if Israel did not change its stance toward Gaza.” Isn’t this a “quid pro quo,” exactly what the phony Democratic Congress is trying to get the lawful sitting President of the United States impeached over?

Then there was a sitting Vice President Biden admitting in TV interview of doing the exact same thing, no aid to Ukraine unless Ukraine fires a state prosecutor looking into Biden’s son getting a position on the board of a Ukrainian energy company with no experience whatsoever for a mere $83,000 a month.

Really? What a sham all of this is.
