Letters to the Editor

Man is the villain, not God

To the Editor:

Wes Dickson, I read your letter to the editor, and I respectfully offer some comments regarding its contents. I am not challenging your comments, I’m merely offering my interpretation of the Bible.

You speak of God being the cause of genocide, socialism, abortions and miscarriages, violent crimes and that “frying someone, forever, for any reason is the preoccupation of a deranged lunatic.” You are totally missing the big picture, in my opinion.

Yes, all these events happen on a daily, weekly, monthly and/or yearly basis – but they are not caused by God. God, as spoken about in the Bible, is a caring, just, forgiving and loving God – one who gives – and who has given every human being since time began a free will. It’s how human beings use that free will that causes the problems and insanity in this world.

God gave Adam and Even the entire Garden of Eden with only one stipulation – do not eat the fruit of this one tree. Eve gave in to the temptations of Satan/the Devil, and the rest, as they say, was and is history.

God did not make Eve eat that apple. The Devil played on her human weakness and convinced her to eat it. That was not God’s fault, that was the Devil’s and Eve’s fault. Eve had a choice, and Eve blew it. And for her one mistake, humanity has paid and will continue to pay the price forever.

I have no problem with you not believing in God. That’s your choice. But please don’t make him out to be some sort of villain. Nothing could be further from the truth. God is great, God is good. It’s humans and the choices they make that are the villains.

The attempted coup against Trump

To the Editor:

The week of Nov. 13 began another phase in the never-ending attempted coup of our duly elected president, Donald J. Trump.

The coup began the night President Trump was elected. Certain elected liberals were promising to impeach him before he even took the oath of office. But what we didn’t know, until this past year, is there were upper echelons of the FBI and Justice Department conspiring to remove our president, as well.

Our forefathers could never have imagined the impeachment process being used to thwart the will of the people. But then again, maybe they were worried about such a thing.

The liberals in our society and government have realized they cannot remove our president at the ballot box, so they must remove him through false pretenses.

This is not only treasonous, but it is also very dangerous. As much as I despised and disagreed with former President Obama’s policies, I could never imagine spending every day calling for his impeachment. Impeachment should be left to the electorate. It’s called election day.

I am sincerely worried about our republic. If the insane liberals and deep state bureaucrats are successful in their nefarious activities, I truly believe the silent majority who rose up to elect Donald Trump will rise up to protect Donald Trump.

My mother always said, “Be careful what you ask for.”
