JOLIET – An open pharmacy is once again up and running in the Will County Health Department’s Community Health Center in Joliet. Basinger’s Pharmacy, which has six locations in Joliet alone, can now be found adjacent to the waiting area at the Community Health Center.
Bilingual pharmacy technician Felicia Rodriguez will be there each day of operation, and has been with Basinger’s Pharmacy since March.
Her pharmacy career began in Seattle, where she worked for an independent pharmacy.
Rodriguez said Basinger offers free delivery to patients, as they have drivers that go beyond Will County’s borders. There’s also two pharmacists.
One is Phadi Mmutle, who worked for Basinger’s from 2000 to 2007, and then returned in 2014. She received her pharmacy degree from Ferris State University in Michigan. When Mmutle is working at the other Basinger’s in Joliet, she will be replaced by Scott MacLeod, who joined the Basinger’s team this year.
Mmutle says one of the great things about Basinger’s, which will certainly come in handy at the Community Health Center, is the relationship they establish with their clients. She also pointed out that while the stock of the new Basinger’s is rather low right now, they will be able to get whatever a patient needs from their suppliers or other Basinger’s.
The Basinger’s Pharmacy at the Community Health Center will be open the same hours that the CHC Medical Clinic is open.
