Nick Macris attributed his time to volunteer and give back to the community in which he was born and raised to his lack of love of the game of golf. “Maybe that’s why I have time,” he said.
Most of his adult life he commuted for work outside of the city of Joliet and now he devotes his time to many organizations in order to show off his city. He worked for ComEd for 22 years and was in the United States Army for 20 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel.
Now, Macris can be found at the Joliet Kiwanis Club, the Greater Joliet Area YMCA, Silver Cross Hospital, the Joliet Area Historical Museum or on a tour of Joliet with a new resident.
“I feel like I have a lot to contribute, so as long as I feel I can contribute, I would like to do so,” Macris said.
