The night before she vanished, Gay called the police two of those times, Viduna said, first to accuse Borg of stealing her things and then to make a complaint of domestic trouble.
“Deputies talked to Borg, he agreed to leave,” Viduna said. “About midnight, she called some friends, said they were involved in arguments. One friend even said (Gay) locked herself in the bedroom.”
That friend called Gay back shortly after midnight and Borg answered her phone, Viduna said.
The next day, Gay failed to show up for her waitress job at Louis' Restaurant for the first time ever. Twelve days after that, Gay's daughter, Kimberly Dore, went to the police and made a missing person report.
