Grand Prairie Elementary School renovated its library over the summer, and the work was made possible by a grant from the Frankfort School District 157-C Education Foundation.
Grand Prairie Principal Kirsten Frankovich, library clerk Yvonne Winkler and tech clerk Barb Borden worked together with the Frank Cooney Company to create the vision and decide on necessities for the updated space.
Updates include new furniture; story murals painted by Susie Corkery, retired Grand Prairie art clerk; bulletin boards; rugs; and more.
Last year, renovations of the Chelsea Intermediate School and Hickory Creek Middle School were funded by the Education Foundation and unveiled to the public. Before this work, it had been years since the libraries received enhancements to the space.
