A crash near the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet shut down Chicago Street for hours Friday.
Joliet police responded to the area of Chicago Street and Laraway Road about 10:40 a.m. Friday, Joliet police Sgt. Christopher Botzum said. He said Illinois State Police were handling the investigation, and he could not provide any additional information.
Northbound Chicago Street was closed at Laraway about 10:50 a.m. while police investigated, according to a post on the Joliet Police Department's Facebook page. The street was down to one lane going south at Bradford Road, but reopened about 1:35 p.m.
All traffic was being rerouted to eastbound Laraway Road, the post said.
Illinois State Police Master Sgt. DeAnn Falat said about 1 p.m. that she would not have any information on the incident until it was cleared. Illinois Department of Transportation workers also were on the scene, Joliet police said.
All lanes reopened about 3 p.m., according to the Joliet police Facebook page.
